Of essence in the curriculum vitae are conferences, trade shows, product suggestions and projects that a job applicant may have undertaken. They should appear boldly in the curriculum vitae to entice the system and eventually give a high rank. The vetting of job applicants has been taken to the online communities where potential employees are hanging out. Recruiters are secretly tracking the social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter which are the on spotlight today. They are watching everything they update in the walls, information they filled in the profiles or their daily tweets. They are watching multimedia content that their employees are uploading just to get a glimpse of their ‘true character’. Whatever people post on social media sites is not a true picture of who they really are or it could be an infringement to one’s privacy. The prospective employers don’t care. Job applicants should be alarmed and take the necessary precautions needed.</p>

<p>The first thing a person thinks about when he’s looking for a job or going for a job interview is the salary they will earn. They have minimal thoughts about the co-workers or their supervisors. Individuals feel that they need to make a living and the money earned is dedicated towards their basic needs such as food and shelter. It reaches a point where they wake up every day with a feeling of dread because of the monotonous feeling they get when they go to their workplace. They imagine that they have to do the same thing over and over again and they feel sick to their stomach. The employees desire to change jobs and move forward to challenging duties. When they are invited for interviews, potential candidates put their best foot forward and showcase their strengths. This includes the knowledge they have in their field and their years of experience. One should prove their accomplishments in theirs previous jobs through numbers. For instance if they worked in sales department, they should prove how they increased their sales in percentages.</p>
<p>Prospective candidates should not ask about their salary before hand. It’s considered unethical and it usually puts off the employer from giving the candidate the job. It’s advisable that candidates avoid the salary negotiations until they have secured the job and they are signing their contracts. Each candidate should do their research on the organization and the job position. They should give reasons why they prefer to join the organization and why they are the best candidate suited for the position. This shows the interview panel that the candidate is proactive in learning about the organization’s culture and what it entails to work there. They can tell that he’s is motivated and ready to take on the challenges that the organization has to offer.</p>
<p>Candidates should avoid showing desperation for the job. They should know the worthiness of the skill set they are placing on the table. They should also have knowledge on the worth of their skills in the market and negotiate for their salaries with it as their foundation. When they feel that the salary being offered for their skills is inappropriate, they have a right to turn the job offer down. This proves to the organization that the candidate believes in himself and has confidence in his abilities. It proves that he’s capable of going to another organization that fits his job desires. At times it forces the organization to re-think their strategy and call the candidate back to offer the position to them within their own terms. They should be calm and collected throughout the interview while maintaining composure at all times throughout the interview. At times the interview panel may ask personal questions to measure your temperaments. This proves whether candidates can keep their emotions intact, no matter the pressures faced on the job.</p>

<p>Recruiters have a reputation to uphold as being honest, reliable and trustworthy. Recruiting especially in the military is a tough assignment. It’s based on volunteer ship and their main goal is to achieve their monthly goals of recruiting a certain number of individuals into the military. This is in readiness for their deployment to war torn countries such as Iraq. They are willing to tell lies to the young recruits who are filled with hope of serving their country so they can meet their monthly recruit targets. These lies have spread their wings to other job markets in the world too. Individuals leave campus looking forward to getting a well paying job in their area of specialization. They make applications to various organizations over various communication channels such as emails, postal letters and networks they have formed over the years in campus. They become excited because of the privileges they will have once they start having their own money. They will be able to move in to their own apartments, buy their own cars and start their own businesses like fashion and perfume lines. The candidates desire to live the life of a celebrity or a billionaires’ child.</p>
<p>The job candidates cannot wait to be called for interviews where they get a chance to showcase their skills in the field. They dream of having their own corner office away from the noise. Their office windows facing towards the beauty of the city, where they get to enjoy the view of landscaped gardens or flowing beaches. This dream however may be shattered when the job offers fail to come through for the candidates. They may be sitting near their phones hoping that it rings. Praying the person on the other end is the recruiter calling, to inform them that they have been selected to attend an interview at their organization. The candidates are elated with joy and they prepare themselves adequately for the interview. They take out their best suits and place their documents in the best briefcases. During the interview, the recruiter gives the candidate the impression that he has gotten the job. They use statements such as “we will be in touch” or that they will call you once they form a short list of the candidates. The candidate goes home feeling that they have successfully attained the job, only for them to be disappointed. They wait with eagerness to be called to take up their new position in the organization but it never comes through. This leaves the candidate feeling very discouraged and they may decide to consider other channels of earning money. In severe cases, they might be negatively influenced into prostitution or drug peddling to make ends meet.</p>

<p>With the current global changes occurring daily over the internet, new recruitment sites are coming up online. Their purpose is to make the job search easier for graduates who have just left school. They provide channels which the students can use to look for an internship or permanent jobs. Employers who are looking for individuals to take up positions in their organizations also post their vacant job positions on the site online. Interested candidates have to register with the recruitment sites before they can access the vacancies. Once they register, they immediately look for positions best suited for their skills and knowledge that they have trained for in campus. They click on the links and if they find that their skills fit the requirements of the job, they apply for it.</p>
<p>In some organizations, the recruitment teams prefer to recruit from within their organization. When a position is vacant, it is advertised over internal channels of communication such as work emails and memos. The employees apply for the positions and the recruitment team sets up interview dates for the positions. Once interviewed, the panel picks the best candidates out of the first interviewees to undergo a second round of interviews. This helps to determine the person best suited for the position depending on how they handle the pressures placed on them through aggressive questioning. There are other organizations which host their interviews over the internet. They have an interview procedure that allows the viable candidates to go through a series of steps before they get the job position. The candidates are taken through a variety of online aptitude tests. These test their mental and psychological capabilities to handle pressure. Once the candidate passes through the online interviews, the organizations arrange for a face to face interview where they get to meet the candidate. This helps them to determine the candidates’ personality and individuality.</p>
<p>There are candidates whose qualification match the requirements of the job position but their attitude may leave a lot to be desired. In a face to face meeting, recruiters get bewildered because some of the candidates may be very anxious that they fail to grasp and answer the questions effectively. Other candidates portray too much confidence in the interview, which immediately puts off the interviewers. The candidates come off as condescending to their recruiters and they immediately begin to lose their credibility. The first impression they create with their interviewers is a poor one and they immediately lose the job opportunity. In some organizations, the interview starts immediately the candidate steps through the door. They are evaluated from how they speak and treat the receptionist to how they speak to their fellow candidates who are also waiting to be interviewed. Individuals should learn that being courteous to people eventually gets them to their most important goal. This is because human beings are like the branches of a tree. With time and patience they help you get to the top.</p>

<p>There are different kinds of people in the world, and what that means is that there are different interests and likes among people. There are men who love blonde ladies while there are those who prefer ladies with black hair. Whereas some ladies love tall, well-built men, some ladies don&#8217;t think that is a very good idea as they prefer men of middle height. Such discrepancies exist in all levels of life, even when it comes to the type of job somebody prefers. Some people prefer being self-employed for their entire lives-they appreciate that because they believe they are always in control of their destinies-while yet others prefer being employed in firms and companies.</p>
<p>Amongst those who love being employed in companies and firms there is still a difference between those who love working for profit making organizations and those who prefer the non-profit kind. I am not sure which is better than the other, seeing as it is always a matter of taste and preference. For the people who are used to working or rather who prefer working in the non-profit organizations, it is important for them to learn a few things if they are to land the jobs they crave for, from the organizations they desire to.</p>
<p>The first thing the potential employee of non-profit making firms should do is to research on the firm. This could come through taking a keen look at the firm’s press releases, appearances on the news sites, its online presence and such like things. It is very important to find out about the firm from any kind of literature one can lay hands on, for the simple reason that such things help out so much when it comes to the actual day of the interview. I am sure no one wants to sound blank when asked something about the firm on the material day of the interview.</p>
<p>It always adds you an extra attention from the human resource panelists if you know much about their company. It is also recommended that anybody desiring to be employed in a non-profit making organization writes his resume in a simple and clear format that will be easily understood by the interviewers or whoever it is that will look at the resumes. This is important as it almost always speaks volumes about the kind of person that you are and what you will bring to the table if given the chance to work. It is also important for the potential employees to emphasize their qualifications and their transferrable skills-these are the skills they learnt in their previous job postings and which they feel could be of use if given the job. I am sure if they carry themselves out during the interview with the aforementioned points put into consideration and an emphasis on their love for the community they will do well.</p>
